***** Alice smiled as she gave Brittany a hug then watched her friend get into her car and pull out of her parking space. Making her way to her own car, Alice threw all of her stuff into the backseat and was about to slide into the drivers seat when she glanced at the school and noticed the woods that formed the boundary of the school grounds. Lightly chewing on the inside of her lower lip, Alice debated for a few seconds before taking her foot out of her car and bending over to reach into the back of her car and grab her backpack. Pulling out her cell phone, Alice tossed her pack back into the backseat then straightened up and closed the door of her car. With a push of a button, her car was once again secure and the brunette tucked her cell phone into her right back pocket before tucking her keys into right front pocket. She wasn't sure why she felt the need to go for a little walk after school but it had been awhile since she'd gone for a walk in the woods behind the school. Alice knew that she wasn't exactly dressed for a long hike in the woods but she'd be fine for a short walk through the trees that lined the back of Forks High.
As Alice disappeared into the trees, she felt as if a calming sense had washed over her. Closing her eyes for a second, Alice took a deep breath of the air around her then let it out slowly before opening her eyes again. She truly loved being out in nature and as she made her way further into the trees she found her thoughts drifting. She found herself thinking about the talk she'd had with her sister a few nights earlier and found herself unconsciously shaking her head a bit from side to side. She couldn't understand how her sister could after one talk with Edward Cullen could say she was in love with him. In like with him, sure, Alice could buy that. She honestly believed that her sister was in lust with the youngest of Dr. Cullen's two sons given how attractive he was. It had taken Bella a while before she would admit she was in love with Jacob but she was quick to say she was in love with Edward which had Alice thinking her sister was a lot more naive then she had originally thought.
As Alice's thoughts continued on the night her sister had woken her up, she found herself remembering the dream she'd had before her sister had woken her up. The images of her ex with the girl he had cheated on her with still caused a stab of pain in Alice's heart but as she found herself remembering Jasper she felt her heart lighten. Something about the guy called out to Alice and as she remembered the part of her dream where Jasper's skin seemed to glitter like thousands of small diamonds, Alice found herself laughing softly to herself before she softly muttered: "Yea cuz normal every day people glitter in the sunlight."
With her thoughts on Jasper, Alice placed her fingers lightly on a tree as she walked around it letting her fingers trail lightly over it before she walked away from it. As she wondered if she should get better acquainted with Rosalie, Alice caught the toe of her boot in a root and stumbled to the side. Placing her hand on the trunk of the nearby tree, Alice steadied herself and began to pull her foot out from under the root as a shadow passed over her shoe. Looking up, Alice's eyes widened before she saw who stood in front of her and she gave him a small smile. "Hey Edward."

A lot had been happening recently a series of events that were certainly not working in his favor, one. He had nearly lost control of everything after meeting this one girl, two. His feelings for her were developing and quickly as well as strongly, three. She had worked out exactly who, and what he was, despite the warnings, despite the evasions, Bella had persisted. Isabella Swan had found out his most deepest and most darkest secret, that he was a vampire. Yet she had not run in fear, she had done nothing for that matter, of course fear had flared if only for a moment, but that had soon enough died. Instead she had remained there and continued to ask him question. Questions! of all things, Whatever it was that the two of them felt it wasn't good, it wasn't right, but at the same time, it felt..normal, like this was now everything should be, it was a dangerous ground, what made it that much worse, was the fact that Bella was due to be Married, to none other than a Vampire's supposed worst enemy.
Not that Edward objected to such things, but wasn't that dangerous? The wolves had very little control over themselves when angered, where as certain vampires had all the control possible, in Edward's opinion the wolves were the most dangerous, But what could he do, what could he say? it wasn't his choice, it was Bella's life. Even though he continued to concern himself, he couldn't help but be concerned when it came to Bella's life, why? he had no idea, but he felt the strong need to simply be there for her to look out for her, and to protect her no matter the cost. Odd considering they had only known each other for a short amount of time. None the less that was only over the course of a few days which made it all that much more worrying, Currently however school had just finished for the day, the need to hunt was overwhelming he had spent a majority of the day with Bella simply talking, even the occasional laugh escaped his lips, he had never been so much at peace with himself, or anyone for that matter, she fascinated him beyond everything, he had held onto her every word, watched her every expression. Yet he had still not grown tired of her.
Now, Edward walked through the forest his footsteps made little, if any sound on the forest floor as he moved, his gaze swept the area, his nose filtered the air, there was very little wildlife out today, a storm was defiantly on the way. Having killed one deer, his thirst was not yet stated but so far it would simply have to suffice. Carlisle had visited the butchers that day, and collected a few bags of animals blood, namely for time such as these, especially during winter, which was fast approaching. Running swiftly though the forest, scents stirred through the air, there was one that was only faintly recognizable. Alice. Bella's sister, frowning. Edward slowed swiftly before he then changed his direction and headed at a jog, perhaps slightly faster than that of a human. What was she doing in the forest? Why were humans so persistent on entering alone of all things, he could of understood had there been more than one, then he would of left them be, but with them on their own. He couldn't help but intervene. As he approached Alice, he saw her now, she was yanking at her foot that had been caught under a tree root, before he managed to say anything, Alice looked up noticing him. As she greeted him, Edward nodded and gestured to her foot. "Would you like some help?" he questioned it was perhaps the least he could do, he knew that Alice's opinion of him was one that matched her opinion of many boys, but he wasn't like them, and perhaps he could change her mind. Over time.

***** "It's ok. I've got it." Alice said as she looked down at her leg and braced herself against the tree with her hands. Giving her leg one good hard pull, the brunette soon had her leg free of the root and she looked up to give Edward another small smile although this one was accompanied by a glint of triumph in her eyes as if to say see I told you I could do it by myself. With her hand still resting against the side of the tree Alice balanced herself on one leg as she slowly rotated the ankle of the foot that had just been caught under the root. It felt fine to her but she wanted to make sure that her ankle was still strong since she didn't want to take a step and fall on her face because she had twisted or sprained her ankle. She really didn't want to have to ask Edward to help her out of the woods since she knew that it would take them both forever to walk out of their if she had sprained her ankle and asking him to carry her would have taken just as long if not longer since they were a good distance in.
"So what are you doing out here?" Alice asked as she tentatively put her weight on her foot then inwardly smiled in satisfaction when she saw that her ankle could still support her weight with no problem. With her eyes on Edward, Alice found her thoughts once again drifting back to the night that Bella had woken her up. Alice had definitely been less then pleased with her younger sister that night. Normally whenever she dreamed about the night her ex had cheated on her, Alice's dream shifted to the school whenever she left the party. Although nobody had commented on her ex cheating on her, with the exception of a few girls who were jealous of Alice and had found the whole thing to be hilarious, in her dreams as soon as Alice got to school everybody either laughed at her or pointed and whispered. For once her dream hadn't shifted to the school and instead it had shifted to the meadow which was a happy place for her. Along with the meadow she had found Jasper and had been on the verge of getting a kiss from the guy when her sister had woken her up.
Alice couldn't help but wonder if that was part of the reason she had been somewhat hard on her sister that night, but the truth was that was exactly how she felt. Normally she would have softened the blow and wouldn't have been so blunt about her opinions of Edward or the situation but her sister had ruined a good dream so it made Alice wonder if that was why she had said things the way she had. No matter the reason, Alice stood face to face with the object of her sister's interest and they were alone. Alice doubted if she would have a chance like this again so she intended to make the best of it. She was going to find out if Edward was just messing with her sister's head and if he was then she knew that all hell would break loose. She refused to see her sister hurt the same way she had been and while Alice may not have been a fan of the whole Jacob/Bella getting engaged plan when they first did it, it was obvious that Jacob absolutely adored her younger sister. Alice was not going to let her sister give up somebody who loved her like that just because a guy who looked good was paying some attention to Bella.

Waiting before Alice, in aid to help her, Alice however seemed unwilling to accept the offer so he watched for a moment until Alice finally freed her foot. Taking a step closer to reach out and catch her if needs be, He held his hand back when she finally placed her foot down, at least she didn't topple down, unlike a certain someone who Edward was sure, would of probably fallen over her own feet and the root given the chance. None the less, she wasn't here and that was what mattered. Had she been here then it would of been a different story. He certainly wouldn't of let her stay in the forest, it was bad enough that her sister was in the forest at the current time, if only he could convince Alice just as easily to leave the forest as he had eventually managed to convince Bella to. When Alice asked what he was doing out here, he paused for a moment as he collected his thoughts and put them into words, he wished to tell the truth, yet at the same time couldn't and lying was one thing he didn't like doing. "Same thing as you I would imagine, taking a break, wondering." He admitted with a gentle shrug, as he glanced around the surrounding forest, with a gentle frown he added. "You shouldn't be in the woods alone either." he commented as he watched Alice try her foot once more, at least she wasn't hurt.
Moving past Alice then he paused stopping as he turned around to face her. "Where are you heading? I have little else to do if you would like some company?" he questioned it would certainly give him the chance to talk more with Alice, perhaps even give him the chance to find out more about Bella, although she knew all about him, he still had yet to find out more about her, and Alice was perhaps a key into Bella's life, not only that, but he hoped he could convince Alice otherwise, he knew her opinion of him was low, but he would change that. Deciding to drop the small hint, he arched his dark eyebrow and questioned. "I'm surprised your not with Bella actually usually the two of you are always with one another." He stated conversationally, his tone was soft, gentle and smooth. There was no real use in denying his feeling anymore for the girl, Bella. No matter what he told himself, no matter how many times he tried to convince himself, he felt for her, emotion stronger than he had ever felt, was it love? was that even possible after such a short amount of time spent together? Maybe, who knew? Perhaps it was possible, yet it certainly wasn't the right thing to feel, he knew Bella was due to get married, knew that she was in love with someone as it was. Yet still he couldn't help what thoughts clouded his mind constantly each one of them relating only to Bella.
(Sorry it's not long!)

***** Alice couldn't stop herself from rolling her eyes when Edward told her that she shouldn't be out in the woods alone. Although a part of her was saying it was nice of him to worry about her, another part of her was saying he was just like every other guy out there. Assuming that just because she was a girl she couldn't take care of herself in the woods but she knew that guys would be surprised if they were ever to get lost in the woods with Alice. Unlike most girls, Alice could take care of herself in the woods and while she would be screwed if she were attacked by a bear or a pack of wolves, she knew what signs to be on the look out for. She knew their tracks, knew their droppings. If she saw claw marks on a tree she could tell if they were fresh or old. She may not have been a true woodsman but she definitely knew more then a normal every day person.
"Look just cuz I'm a girl it doesn't mean I can't take care of myself. I grew up in these woods and I know that I know a lot more about these woods and it's inhabitants then you do." Alice said knowing that she sounded a bit full of herself. Part of her said she should apologize to Edward but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She didn't like him or anybody thinking she couldn't take care of herself just because she was a girl or worse just because she was a cheerleader. Alice had heard one too many cheerleaders are airheads jokes in her life and if Edward was smart he wouldn't make one.
Looking at Edward doubtfully when he said that he would join her if she wanted some company, Alice found herself thinking he really was the player she had thought he was. First he went after her sister and now he wanted to spend some alone time with her. He had to have something on his mind if he wanted to spend the time with her and even though Alice wanted to call him on it, she knew better then to say anything. If by some chance she was wrong then saying he was trying to hook up with both sisters would just make her look arrogant and like an idiot. She needed more evidence that he was player before she called him on it and when he asked her about her sister, Alice shrugged.
"I guess it would seem like we spend a lot of time together since when you saw us in the parking lot we were together and then at lunch she joined us but the truth is we really don't spend too much time together. She has her group of friends and I have mine." Alice said. As she motioned for Edward to go ahead and join her, Alice began to walk again as she said: "In all honesty I was kind of surprised that Bella joined us that day at lunch. I don't think she's ever joined me for lunch before aside from the occasional question or something."
"I'm sure the only reason she joined us that day was because she wanted to get closer to you." Alice thought as she looked forward and made her way through the trees. It irritated her that her sister was all gaga over a guy that she knew nothing about. Alice wanted to say that her sister was only interested in Edward for his looks but she didn't want to make her sister seem too shallow. Alice may not have been happy with her sister at the moment but she was still her sister and she couldn't bring herself to have negative thoughts about Bella. Even if she was being silly in thinking that she loved Edward, Alice had to give her sister the benefit of the doubt.
"What about your brother? Aren't the two of you usually together?" Alice asked. Alice knew that she could be wrong but aside from that one time in the parking lot when Edward had gotten to school before his brother, She could have sworn she never saw or heard about the two of them being apart.

Well perhaps it wasn't the best start to any form of greeting having met her for the second time, his first impression was failing fast none the less given the look he received from Alice along with her thoughts that she in all honestly despised him even though they had only just met only the other day. he had meant no offense on Alice's behalf, but he couldn't very well apologize yet without risking the chance that Alice would suspect something to be..different with him, so much had been risked already he couldn't add yet another thing onto the list.
Look just cuz I'm a girl it doesn't mean I can't take care of myself. I grew up in these woods and I know that I know a lot more about these woods and it's inhabitants then you do. Alice commented, Arching his dark eyebrow Edward remained where he stood. although raised his hands a fraction and partly out of old time habit bowed his head, briefly before he looked back up to her, his tone gentle and soft. "I apologize, I had no intention of offending you, but it's only natural that I concern myself with a womans safety. But I apologize if I gave you the wrong impression." At least he apologized then, he hoped that Alice would not hate him, or dislike him. She seemed a genuinely nice girl, talkative and friendly she was perhaps one of the very few people he could quite happily have a conversation with.
Once he had asked her if she wished to have company, he could see the doubt in her eyes, combined with the obvious reluctance, so she saw him as a typical guy, an everyday one at that. This thought irked him a fraction that was not at all true, if anything he was a typical old fashioned sort he had no intentions of wooing Alice, his head and perhaps even his heart had been set on one girl and her alone. Bella. Although it was wrong, he had tried hard to compel his thoughts of Bella out of his mind, but it did nothing to ease the dull ache, in his empty chest and back of his throat, whatever he felt for Bella was stronger than anything he had ever felt before. Remaining where he stood he looked to Alice and spoke calmly, "If you would rather not like company then I shall leave?" he offered although received no immediate answer.
Alice then continued onto mention about she and Bella, how they didn't spend so much time together, he wasn't entirely bothered it was more so for conversational reasons. When gestured to continue ahead, Edward nodded and begun walking alongside Alice as he continued to listen. He smiled briefly if only for a moment, at Alice's still current dislike. Keeping a good amount of distance between them as they walked, he gazed ahead until he heard her sudden comment that caused his attention to perk, looking to Alice he frowned softly. "Get closer to me?" he commented and shook his head. "Then please tell her to stay away.. I have tried, but I'm no good for her. She is no good for me." He stated it would be better if it was that way, although considering Bella refused to listen to him, what chances was it that she would listen to her own sister? Considering Bella was certainly not the type to listen to anyone all together.
What about your brother? Aren't the two of you usually together? Alice questioned, Edward shrugged softly turning his slightly dull golden eyes ahead. Before he then spoke "What about him? Personally he's just rude and untrained." Edward said with small smile, tilting the corner of his lips into a genuine crooked smile, although it was of an impish nature. "I try to avoid him most times, he usually finds me, as much as he is a brother as he is annoying, he's my only real friend." He admitted raising his shoulders for a moment before dropping them moments later as he stepped ahead he carelessly and elegantly stepped over a fallen log, he barely even had to look where he was going, it came naturally, everything came naturally to him in the forest.

***** Alice only nodded when Edward apologized. She couldn't blame him for being raised to worry about a woman's safety and she had to admit it was enduring and somewhat cute but she wasn't about to admit that. Instead she just walked along beside Edward until he commented on her thoughts and that caused her jaw to drop. Turning to look at Edward as he explained about his brother, Alice was barely even listening. How had he heard her thoughts? She knew she hadn't said anything about her sister wanting to get closer to him because she didn't want to give this guy any more power over her sister then he already seemed to have. Coming to a stop, Alice looked up at Edward with her anger rising. Was this how he was getting her sister to fall for him. Was he a mind reader and knew just what to do or say to get her sister to fall for him?
"What do you mean tell her to stay away from you? How do you know what I was thinking?!" Alice asked as the anger she was feeling caused her voice to change so that it was in a dangerously low tone. Alice definitely wasn't known for her fighting abilities but that didn't mean she wouldn't try to beat this guy into a bloody pulp if he was messing with her sister. The more Alice was learning about this guy the more she wanted to forbid her sister from ever talking to him again but she knew better. Forbidding her sister from doing something was the same as pushing her into doing it. Bella could be just as stubborn as Alice when it came to doing things she wanted to do so Alice knew she'd have to tread carefully when it came to this guy around her sister. Alice could tell Bella what she thought about him and tell him whatever she learned about him, but she could never forbid her sister from seeing him.

Edward realized at that moment the mistake he had just made, he had spoke before he had even thought about it. It was obvious by her reaction he had been caught out, looking ahead his jaw tensed. Yet another thing added to the list of problems, he could hardly tell her that he could read minds, if he did that he'd only come across to Alice as crazy, there was already to many complications they didn't need anymore, not only that but he was trying to get on the better side of Alice, so much so that they could at least create some form of possible friendship although given the current situations he supposed, that was probably pushing his luck. Still there was still no harm in trying, he didn't really like making enemies, or having anyone dislike him, although he did prefer to keep himself to himself, the less he socialized the better everything was, the safer everything remained. At the same time, he felt the need to tell Alice all that he could he felt like he could trust her, that she would understand on some level, what it was that he wanted her to understand he didn't know, maybe. Just maybe he could talk to her, tell her most of the truth. Either way what more could possibly go wrong? Bella already knew what he was, and now Alice probably already knew what he could do.
What do you mean tell her to stay away from you? How do you know what I was thinking?! Alice suddenly demanded, pausing Edward turned around to face Alice, his expression troubled, he frowned lightly and looked to Alice for a long moment, wondering, analyzing if he could really trust her. "If I was to tell you Alice, would you even believe me?" he questioned for the moment before he glanced around before he looked back to Alice and spoke calmly and truthfully. "What if I was to tell you..that I could read minds? Do you think I'm crazy?" He questioned, although he could probably already guess the answer. Shaking his head he then turned and continued to walk ahead, elegantly moving across the many fallen logs, he stopped once again a few feet away and turned back to face Alice. "Yes. Tell Bella to stay away from me..I can only try so hard, but as I said. I am no good for her. She won't listen to me, perhaps she will listen to you."

***** "Well obviously I'm going to believe you. You just did it to me and for the record. My mind is mind. You have no right to be in there." Alice said angrily as she watched Edward take a step away from her before turning back to look at her. Shaking her head slightly when Edward told her to tell Bella to stay away from him, Alice gave a somewhat annoyed laugh. Telling Bella what to do never worked for her. She tried telling Bella not to marry Jacob in the first place and that they were too young but she went and got engaged anyway. If Alice told Bella to stay away from Edward it would only guarantee that her sister run towards him with open arms from here on out.
"I'm not going to tell my sister what she can and can't do. She always does the opposite of what I tell her to do." Alice said as she watched Edward before an idea hit her. Crossing her arms over her chest, Alice looked Edward dead in the eyes as she said: "Although if you're so worried about you then why don't you stay away from her? Neither one of us can control what she does or who she talks to, but you on the other hand can control who you see and who you talk to. If you genuinely think you're no good for her and if you are genuinely worried about her, then stay away from her. When you see her coming towards you walk away. If she tries to talk to you then give her some excuse for you having to leave or just don't respond to her at all."
Alice had no idea if Edward meant what he said but she figured if he did mean it and if he did honestly care about her sister then he'd listen to her. What she had said was true. They couldn't control Bella, but Edward could control himself.

At least she believed him about one, thing he supposed that was one step in the right direction to wards some form of understanding. He hoped anyway. Of course, Alice was none to pleased with this recent information and therefore scolded him, yes he did have no right but it wasn't something he could control. Edward rolled his eyes lightly he was so much more at ease with Alice, more so then he was with Emmett most of the time. "I know, and I apologize, but my 'talent' isn't something I can control, it all depends on the person and if I can block them, out, I could block you out, but it requires a great deal of energy and concentration and it gives me an awful dull headache." Edward explained his tone calm, although once again perhaps slightly to old fashioned and formal. When the breached the subject of Bella Edward could almost tell what Alice was thinking without even having to listen to her thoughts. Bella..Wasn't one to listen to anyone, for any reason, that he had worked out, what possessed him to even think for a moment Bella would even listen to Alice was beyond him.
I'm not going to tell my sister what she can and can't do. She always does the opposite of what I tell her to do. Alice said, only confirming what he himself had concluded. Nodding Edward sighed lightly and frowned, this was proving harder then he had thought. Moment later Alice spoke of ideas in which to carry out, how Edward should stay away from Bella, did she not think he had tried? listening all the less, Edward shook his head softly "Do you not think I have tried Alice? I have tried so hard to stay away from Bella, I even disappeared for a few days after meeting her, but she continues to approach me, I have told her to stay away, that I am no good for her, that she is ruining everything she has with this..Jacob." Edward paused before he rubbed his temples and frowned deeply, the simple talk of such things was causing his head to pound, with unwanted emotions, unwanted feelings. Looking back to Alice he admitted the one thing he had up until now refused to accept.
"I can't stay away from her, I've tried, but I'm drawn to her, cliche, I know. But I cannot stop thinking about her, I feel alive when I am near her, I hang onto her every word, you see Alice. She intrigues me. Where as I can hear your thoughts as well as any one else's, I cannot hear Bella's. I dare say it but I am infatuated with her." Edward admitted as he prepared for a possible en slaughter of harsh words. He deserved nothing less he supposed.

***** "And that is your mistake right there. When she approaches you, you respond to what she says to you. Stop responding to her Edward. Turn and walk away when she tries talking to you." Alice said simply before he was going on about how Bella intrigued him. Staring at Edward in surprise, Alice found herself rolling her eyes when he said he couldn't stay away from Bella and was in fact infatuated with her. Shaking her head from side to side, Alice moved closer to the nearby tree and leaned back against it. She tried to think of how to phrase what she wanted to say and after a few moments of thought she looked Edward in the eyes.
"So because my sister is an oddity to you, because you are intrigued by her, you are going to allow her to be your faithful and obedient little puppy. You're going to allow her to follow you around and throw away a lifelong relationship all because you are infatuated with her." Alice said as she found herself crossing her arms over her chest. She really wanted to be meaner to Edward. She wanted to yell and scream at him but so far he hadn't done anything to really warrant that action. He was talking to her civilly which meant she had to return the same courtesy and as she let out a soft sigh, Alice continued.
"Infatuations die Edward. Either you'll figure out why you can't hear her thoughts and the intrigue will be lost, or you'll just stop caring about why you can't hear her thoughts and get over it. Either way, you're going to string her along until the mystery is gone from her and my sister is going to end up alone. Jacob won't take her back. What guy would want a girl who dumped him for another guy?" Alice said, her eyes never leaving Edwards. She really hated being the voice of reason for both Edward and Bella but it looked like neither one seemed to have one of their own. The impression she was getting from both was that they enjoyed a mystery and they enjoyed the thrill of the unknown and were willing to break Jacob's heart in the pursuit of it. Alice may not have been Jacob's hugest fan lately but he had been a decent friend to her over the years and she was not about to let anybody, not even her sister, hurt Jacob so badly.
"Not to sound rude or anything, but if you ask me, both you and Bella are acting like selfish, spoiled brats. Consequences be damned. You both just want what you want and screw the results. Lets say by some miracle your infatuation does survive and the two of you do end up together. Our mother is a loving and nurturing woman so you probably wouldn't have any problem getting along with her but our father isn't the easiest person to get along with. We are extremely close to my mother and spend holidays, birthdays and other events together. Would you be willing to spend so much time with our family the way Jacob was or would you be pulling Bella away from us to do your own thing? If you two do somehow make it through everything and end up together do you want a family? My mother is looking forward to her grandkids just as much as she's dreading us getting older and moving out with our husbands." Alice said. She already wasn't a huge fan of Edwards because he and Bella were on their way to hurting Jacob and he wasn't family. If Bella and Edward hurt Esme then family be damned. Alice loved her sister but her mother's soft voice and loving nature were the force that drove Alice on. If Bella and Edward hurt Esme then all hell would break loose and Alice would go off on both Bella and Edward.

When he finished all that he had to say, Alice suddenly cut in, correcting him so to speak. When she approached him? Walk away? Did she not think he had tired that? many times had he tried, yet each time he had found himself facing her once again, no matter where he went, what he did, Bella was always there, never all that far away. He had even tried ignoring her, yet Bella had always found him, always persisted in getting an answer, and in the end he would give up and simply talk to her, she was hard to ignore at times, everything intrigued him, there was no deny that.
Clearly though, with his sudden admittance, Alice was far from impressed, then again he hadn't expected any different, it was clear once again that Alice still strongly disliked him, if only she knew exactly who, and what he was. At Alice's reply, Edward folded his arms across his chest and studied Alice for a long moment, although with her words, irritation and small anger flared, how could she accuse him of that? she barely even knew him. "Of course not. Do you think I want that to happen? I have told Bella a hundred times over, i am no good for her, I don't deserve her, yet she persists. What else can I possibly do? other than leave Forks? It's what I plan to do and soon." he admitted, with a deep frown as he glanced down and shook his head slowly.
Then Alice, continued but what she said, irritated him further, she didn't understand, she was bypassing all of it, only seeing what she wanted to see. Edward moved with ease and came to stand a few feet away from her now. "They die yes, I have been waiting for it to die. I've tried finding interest in other girls, as mentioned I have even contemplated leaving. I don't think you realize just how much she intrigues me, yes situations change, her feelings will change, She'll forget about me, I want her too, I want her to marry Jacob, I want her to have a life. But the one thing that will not change is how much I care for her at this moment. I see her trip, my stomach leaps, I hang onto her every word when she speaks, she smiles, and I smile, she laughs, I end up laughing. Bella of all people can do better then me, she has Jacob. Good. I don't deserve her, nor to I want to corrupt the innocence of her soul, She had a heart of gold, a heart to pure, a heart that I couldn't take." Edward admitted, his tone was serious and smooth, yet with each world that flowed from his mouth, sounded older then he, from a different time entirely.
Alice continued once again, about possible life, options and outcomes Edward looked down and shook his head. Some he could uphold, He couldn't give Bella anything other than his heart, and his undying love, his body and his soul, and any form of material possible, but he could never give her a future, or a life.

***** When Alice heard that Edward planned on leaving Forks her jaw dropped slightly and she couldn't stop herself from letting out a laugh. Shaking her head from side to side, Alice listened to Edward and the more he talked, the more he sounded like a child whining. I can't do it. I've tried. She deserves better. As much as she didn't want Edward and Bella to do anything to hurt to Jacob, both were sounding more and more like children to her instead of young adults. Had she been this pathetic sounding when she found out her ex had cheated? If she had why hadn't anybody slapped her? A true friend would have told her to grow up and let it go. The bastard wasn't worth her feeling of self loathing.
"Sooooo your tucking your tail between your legs and running away. I'll admit I've thought a lot of things about you Edward but I never once thought you were coward. Just man up and tell my sister that you never want to see her again and if she respects or cares about you in the least then she'll leave you alone. You can't expect her to leave you alone when you keep talking to her whenever she tries to talk to you. You're just confusing her by saying one thing but doing another and it's not fair to her." Alice said as she looked up at Edward. For a split second fear had washed over her when he had taken a step towards but by the time she had finished talking the fear had faded. If he did anything to her then she knew that it would guarantee Bella never talked to him again. Bella was a lot of things but like Alice she was fiercely protective of her family and friends. Hurting Alice was not something that Bella would let go so easily.
"You don't have to run away Edward. Just stick to your guns and when you tell her you don't want to talk to her anymore, follow through with it. Don't talk to her. If she insists on being persistent then you do the same. Let her keep trying to talk to you. You just turn away and keep on walking. Eventually she'll get the point and she'll leave you alone. You just have to be the strongest of the two of you." Alice said with a shrug of her shoulders as she pushed herself away from the tree and walked away a few steps. Alice couldn't explain why, but ever since she was a little kid she could never just stand in one place. Whenever she talked to somebody she was always swaying from side to side or walking around the area. For whatever reason she just couldn't stand still.

Alice's reaction was certainly something Edward didn't expect. She laughed, he had told her he was leaving and she had laughed, girls were perhaps even more complicated then he first realized, keeping his expression serious he watched her, what she needed was to learn just how serious this was, perhaps he should even scare her a fraction? Sooooo your tucking your tail between your legs and running away. I'll admit I've thought a lot of things about you Edward but I never once thought you were coward. Was she really comparing him to a dog? with each word he felt his irritation spiking, he did not like her attitude, he had told her for Bella's benefit, and she had assumed the rest, that was what irked him the most, with his arms folded over his chest he listened, his expression colder now, what he said next was meant as a warning, he was in no mood for her comments, her teasing ones, and he was being the child?
Just man up and tell my sister that you never want to see her again and if she respects or cares about you in the least then she'll leave you alone. You can't expect her to leave you alone when you keep talking to her whenever she tries to talk to you. You're just confusing her by saying one thing but doing another and it's not fair to her. Edward shook his head, she really was not getting the point of conversation in the slightest. "You are missing my point entirely, I have ignored, her I have walked away from her, I have tried to sit elsewhere in biology, but she will be there, she continues to talk to me, you said so yourself, she is stubborn and impossible, what other options do I have? other than to leave entirely, I am distracting her, ruining her future, with each moment we spend together, and I won't let her through everything away." He commented, his tone stern and formal before he continued, now serious, and slightly irritated.
" Secondly." Edward began as he advanced another step showing his displeasure, he was never the aggressive type, intimidating perhaps but not as bad as Emmett. "--Do not compare me to that dog, you so call Jacob Black, I am in no mood for games, I have come to talk to you, in a courteous way, so I do not need, your insufferable if not childish comments of comparison to that of a dog. I am in no mood for it, and I prefer that you drop such antiques and relations, I assure you I am nothing like a dog." he stated his tone sounded far to old fashioned for his own liking, perhaps even slightly offending, he was handling this maturely, running away was perhaps a small act of cowardice, but there were reasons she of all people would probably never understand. Of course standing where he was now, the scent of fear briefly washed over him and once more hunger ignited but he held it in check if only just.
Still Alice continued on about making the move, being the better one of the two, the point she was missing was the fact none of them were the stronger one. Watching Alice, a brief image if not memory was set in her mind hidden but there. Suddenly Edward held the upper hand, and he spoke, casually following Alice a fraction before he paused. "If it was that easy than none of this conversation would be occurring, I believe you yourself have had a similar situation, Jasper is it? " he mentioned that was perhaps all he had picked up, although currently Edward knew nothing of the fact that he was indeed a vampire. Only that the situation itself was similar without the complication of an engagement. "Do you not find him intriguing that you can simply not stop thinking about him? or talking to him? when you spend every moment with him it feels like you are alive, that you are a new person?" Edward questioned he knew he was right, perhaps Alice would see thing in a different point of view, and he hoped so, it would do her well to accept such..possiblities.

***** "Look, I'm sorry if I'm coming across as a bitch but you do have an option. You have the option of being more stubborn then her. If there's one thing I've learned about my sister that sometimes you have to be a lot more stubborn and a times a lot more cold hearted then her." Alice said with a sigh as Edward began attacking Jacob and calling him a dog. Feeling her temper rise up, Alice took a step towards Edward as she narrowed her eyes dangerously. She knew Edward was just getting frustrated because she was arguing every sing one of his points but she didn't who you were or what you were feeling. You didn't attack one of Alice's friends unless you wanted to face the fury that was the petite cheerleading captain.
"First off, I never once called you a dog. I said you were tucking tail between your legs and running away because you were scared. Dogs are not the only animals who do that just so you know. Second, don't ever insult Jacob Black in front of me again. You do and I promise you that it will be the last thing your tongue ever does because I will rip it out of your mouth. Jacob is a lot of things but a dog is not one of them." Alice growled as she took yet another step closer to Edward as her eyes flashed dangerously. Far too polite to say it out loud, Alice couldn't stop herself as she thought: "I don't see him chasing an engaged girl."
Instantly regretting the thought as soon as it entered her mind, Alice turned away from Edward and began to walk away until she heard the next thing he said. Stopping dead in her tracks, Alice's body went rigged before she turned to look at Edward and her eyes narrowed again. Flashing dangerously in anger, Alice took a step closer to him before she softly growled: "I told you to stay out of my head."
Turning away from Edward, Alice took a few steps before stopping and crossing her arms over her chest. Without turning to look back at Edward, Alice kept her eyes on the trees ahead of her as she said: "I may not be able to stop thinking about him, and you're right, I do feel alive when I'm around him, but, I'm not engaged. I'm not stalking him or attempting to spend every minute with him. Don't try comparing my situation with Jasper to your situation with Bella. The feelings may be similar but the situations are completely different. Unlike you and Bella, if something does happen with Jasper, I'm not going to be hurting anybody else to be with him. And if he was with somebody else, I wouldn't be doing what you're doing. I know what it feels like to have your heart ripped out by the one person you trusted to protect it. I wouldn't wish that on anybody and I sure as hell wouldn't wish it on anybody I see like a brother."
Turning to face Edward, the fire in Alice's eyes had subsided. The anger had faded and in it's place was all the pain she had kept hidden from everybody. It had been almost a year since she had caught her ex cheating on her but the pain of that one act still killed Alice. She had thought he was the one but he had proven her wrong. Looking up at Edward, Alice sighed softly as she said: "Figure something out Edward. Get yourself a girlfriend or something to discourage her, because if you and Bella continue on the path your on I don't know what I'll do. I love Bella and I'll always love my sister, but I don't know if I'll be able to ever look at her the same after this. You may not like Jacob but at least have enough respect for the sanctity of marriage to leave my sister alone. She's engaged to be married Edward. Find somebody else for yourself."
