Bella is also very quiet, she inst known to hold conversation very long and doesn't like to spend time with many people. A trait she inherited from her father Charlie.
Those that know her...Jacob and his family and even friends, are privy to her sometimes overly sarcastic sense of humor and stubborn nature. Her extreme compassion as well.
Bella is a person who stands by her principals and isn't likely to give in without a fight, this is proven when she refuses time and time again to wait to be turned.

history: Isabella Marie Swan was born the youngest daughter to Charlie and Esme Swan. A year younger than her sister Alice. As a baby, Bella was very well behaved, she hardly ever cried...She slept more than a normal baby should so she never did much crying but when she did, she never seemed to stop. The only person capable of making her stop crying would be her mother who would often hum lullabyes to get her to settle down.
Growing up Bella wasn't much of a child...more like a life sixe barbie for her sister. Though she was too young to complain or say anything against whatever Alice decided to dress her up in, she often cried. True, she was too youn to word her opinions but constantly being forced into various outfits and costume changes made for a very irritated baby.
Bella was still very young when her father left, too young to understand what was going on and to understand why her father was there one day and gone the next. Four year old Bella, went on with life as she usually would. Playing with her dollies, falling down and skinning her legs....making mud pies when the dirt was wet enough.
Of course Bella and Alice still saw their father, a couple days a week, sometimes they slept over but Bella always missed her mother when she was at her dad's...she would often cry for hours that she missed her mom but her tantrums never lasted long, an or two and she'd more than tired herself out.
The older Bella and Alice got the less time they wanted to spend with their father...why spend time with someone who didnt care enough to stay with his family? was Bella's best arguement 'If dad loves us so much, he never would have left.' she would always tell her mother...it never worked, she was still too young to make her own decisions and Esme wouldn't have Bella being so cruel and stubborn about it...things got easier when she started high school. Her freshman year was the start of it all. She got a life of her own, was too busy with school work, her friends and her boyfriend Jacob to bother spending every other weekend and a couple nights out of the week with her dad and the rest of the time with her mom...she offered a compromise, five days straight with her father each month. She was fought on this every which way, her mother syaing it wasn't fair to deprive Charlie of having to spend time with his daughters but Bella argued that it wsn't fair she was being forced to spend time with a father who hadn't been very fatherly.
Her arguement won out and Bella's terms were accepted, she would spend five days a month at her fathers house and an entire week for certain holidays.
Bella started her Junior year at Forks High School but her and Alice aren't as close as she would like them to be. Each having their own interests. Alice likes to go to school events and parties, she likes to shop and cheer and be the popular chick while Bella would much rather keep to herself, in the back of the classroom, seated at the lunch table with her few good friends...
Bella has recently become engaged to her long time boyfriend Jacob Black but there is a new guy in town, Edward, who has caught her eye as well...though he seems a bit distant, almways seeming to step away when she gets to close or find some excuse to be as far away from her as possible she is obsessed with finding out more about him.
The mystery that surrounds him and his life is something Bella has become infatuated with. She has to know him, has to know about him.

A day without Edward, great. Just what she needed. The one person she looked forward to seeing most out of her day and he was nowhere to be found. Of course she knew perfectly well where he was and what he was up to. She was many things but stupid is not one of them, unless one would count the math class she was currently failing but she'd cross that bridge when she has to.
For now she was much more concerned with lunch, she'd skipped breakfast today. Waking up late for school, she had no other choice. It didnt help much that she had fallen more than once, the first of her series of falls would be the spill she took rolling out of bed. The second would be on her way to the bathroom to brush her teeth and the third would be when she had headed down stairs to first grab her breakfast but after the last time, she'd given up on trying to rush and simply left without eating.
Needless to say the poor girl was starving.
She made her way first to her locker, putting her text books away and tossing her back pack in the as well before reaching over and grabbed the jacket that she had sloppily put away this morning. She put her arms through the jacket sleeves and zipped it half way before making her way to the cafeteria.
Along the way she bumped into a fellow classmate and apologized sheepishly as she now rushed pass the crowd and into the cafeteria.
Her eyes immediately wandered to the table the Cullens usually sat at, looking for Edward out of habit but he wasn't there. Of course he wasn't there, he was out hunting. He told her he'd be gone so why she even bothered to check for him was a mystery to her.
Making a u-turn to the lunch line she grabbed herself a tray with just an apple and some celery sticks then grabbed a bottle of orange juice. Normally school lunch was okay to eat but for some unknown reason the schools lunchmeat usually looked like it'd been previously digested, best stay clear of the 'mystery meat'
After grabbing her lunch, she smiled as she walked over to the table she sat at with Angela and the others, seeing Alice sitting there waiting for her "Hey." she greeted with a small, sheepish smile. Alice asked how her day was and Bella swore she was glowering but quickly adjusted her face "Fine. Failing math..." she trailed off as she bit a celery stick, chewing and then swallowing as she opened her juice.
