Rosalie was doing something to get her mind off of the situation that she now faced herself in being in a strange new town: shopping. Jasper had badly needed to go "hunting" and she had absolutely no desire to see any of that so Rosalie decided to take a day to herself. Rosalie had found herself in the littlest, smallest, and farthest away from anything fashionable town in the whole United States. The twins had traveled all across the Us looking for a place where Jasper would be safe which turned out to be harder than either of them had expected. In all of the horror movies that Rosalie had ever seemed the vampires all did certain things: slept in coffins, died in the sun, turned into bats, and were purely evil. While Jasper was adjusting to this new life all those things went through Rose's head and fortunately they were not true. Jasper did not turn evil, sleep in a coffin, or turn into a bat instead he did something stranger: he sparkled in the sunlight. While the notion of her twin sparkling in the sun was at fist comical it turned out to be nothing but.
Because of the sunshine issue the twins had to find a place where the sun rarely was out: Forks, Washington. The little town was not in the slightest where Rosalie pictured herself living, but if it kept her brother safe then she would deal with it. Rosalie had waited until Jasper left and then took her M3 convertible out for a drive. Rosalie couldn't help the glare that came from realizing she would have to drive with the top closed because it was raining...again. Rosalie drove through the small town and couldn't find one decent store..much less a designer one.
Rosalie decided to drive to the next town which happened to be two hours away in a city called Port Angeles. The town was far but Rose wasn't worried, if she needed Jasper all she had to do was call him on her cell and he could be there in 30 minutes. What took her so long was barely a few minutes with his running. She was envious of those small things like that, but she would never trade her life for the life he had. She enjoyed living, enjoyed her life. Rosalie made it to the town and smiled as the familiar sights came into view of shopping malls and designer boutiques. Rosalie wasn't in the mood to take on the crowds at the mall so she walked into an upper end shoe store. The store smelled like Italian leather and Rose immediately started scanning the rows and rows of shoes. Her eyes landed on a pair of Christian Louboutin butterfly pumps that were just her size. She slipped off her Jimmy Choos and slid on the Louboutins. She took her time admiring them in the store mirror..these would definitely come home with her.

shopping. it was perhaps one of the more popular past times of the current trends that were traveling around the states. it was certainly one that females in particular seemed particularly joyous and addicted to. while the latter did not fit her as well, the aforementioned items did fit kelsey. but fashion was one of the few things that humans had created that never failed to amaze her as long as she had been alive. it seemed to always be changing around and never staying the same for long. perhaps some found it hard to keep up with but she found it amusing to keep up with, even if she didn't like all of the ideas that humans created. it was entertaining nonetheless.
being a creature of the night meant that leaving the extravagant home early in the day wasn't a difficult task at this point. in fact it was better than leaving late. while of course kelsey had her family for her entertainment and such, there were moments that she did need her alone time. living with a mind reader sometimes could be a pain in the ass, as privacy was usually well cherished. so that was what she was going to get - privacy in her head for a few hours at least. it was comforting to be able to think whatever she wanted to, even for a short period of time. so she had slipped into a gray knit dress, jeggings, and a pair of simple gray heel. it was completely fashionable and looked wonderful on her, so she was confident as usual. it was uncommon for her not to be, with the perks that being a vampire gave you. it was usually a bit of an ego booster being supernaturally beautiful to say the least. but if she ever used anything to her advantage against to humans it was her persuasion talent. but she didn't particularly like taking advantage of them.
shaking the thought from her head, kels decided it would probably be best to hit some of her favorite stores. which of course was mostly shoe stores, as it was her favorite kind of shopping. mostly because she did have legs absolutely meant for heels. and of course, all of the people that worked at her favorite store knew her well at this point. walking in the store she grinned as one of the salesladies greeted her, murmuring her own hello. it was quiet in the story, which was awesome in her opinion. crowded stores were the worst! glancing down one of the rows she noticed a girl probably her physical age, familiar. not a surprise, perfect memories did that a lot. "those shoes look great on you," she spoke, making conversation.
((apologize about the slight wait, lost this post twice.))

Rosalie was about to slip the shoes off of her feet when a girl had spoken to her. Rosalie glanced in the mirror to see a girl who seemed about her age. Rose smiled nevertheless, it was a nice compliment and she of course agreed with it completely.
" Thanks.."
Rosalie slipped them off and placed them securely in the box. She slid back on her shoes and tucked the box under her arm. There was still a lot more shoes to look at, and she planned on taking her time enjoying shopping. First however, Rosalie wanted to introduce herself. She was new to the area after all and what better way to make friends than someone with someone who already complimented her. Rosalie walked over to the girl.
" Hi, Im Rosalie Hale."
She noticed the girl had paler skin that her, and once again she shook off the notion that she was a vampire. Rosalie made a mental note to speak to Jasper about being so paranoid. Something was obviously wrong if she was seeing vampires everywhere she turned around. It just wasn't a possibility..was it?

"no problem," kelsey murmured with a smile. in her family it was easy to say that she really was the socialite. talking to people, even humans, she had absolutely no problem with. she was very good with persuasion so if they suspected anything changing minds were easy. that was pure luck that she had been gifted with that however, it would have been easy to get stuck in a sticky situation without her talent.
it wasn't hard for the blonde vampire to find herself absorbed in the new crystal line of jimmy choo shoes. they were fabulous, after all. and the leona was practically begging her to be bought as she tried on the heels. perhaps what distracted her not to realize that the blonde girl had approached her. "i'm kelsey cullen," she said with a smile. "you recently moved to forks, didn't you?" she inquired, matching the names up with what she had heard at school. and as small as the town was it was easy to find an excuse for knowing that.

The girl had grabbed a pair of Jimmy Choos and Rosalie had to concede that the girl had taste in fashion which was rare in this state. Despite the fact that there were at least four or five designer stores in Port Angeles Rosalie hadn't seen many people wearing them or buying them. The store was almost vacant aside from herself and the girl. When the girl introduced herself Rosalie made the connection with her last name...Cullen.
Surely there couldn't be that many Cullens running around, it wasn't familiar. If it was Jones or Johnson it would be different, but Cullen was unusual and she just bet that she knew who this girl's brother was.
" Cullen...Are you by any chance related to Emmett Cullen? "
When Kelsey asked if she was new Rosalie laughed a little. She had never been in a small town and it was more than strange to get use to. Rose wasn't use to other people knowing all about her, in a large city nobody knew you. She could hide secrets, pretend to be anyone, even dissapear but that was not the case in a small town.
" Yea, my brother and I just moved from New York. Fashion capitol of the US to....Forks...no offense "
Rose didn't want to offend the girl if she liked the small town, but it was not a place Rosalie enjoyed. She hated everything about the town..except for maybe a tall handsome guy named Emmett Cullen.

should kelsey have been surprised by the recognition from her larger and older brother? no. was she surprised? not the least bit. all of the women in forks of course new both of her handsome brothers and all of the men in forks new her. it was just how it worked when it came to being a vampire. speaking of vampire, the scent was all over this one. not enough to be mistaken by one but she certainly had been with one recently. the question was who exactly, that she was unsure of.
"yeah, he's my adopted older bro. get you in trouble already?" kelsey asked with a grin. her brother was certainly the trouble maker of her family, that was well known to her at least. he was such a goofball and a prankster in general, so she wouldn't necessarily be surprised if the answer was yes. that was of course despite the fact that she perhaps interacted with humans more than the rest of her family, but that was just her personality. she was a little too social for her own good but she knew how to handle herself and keep a secret.
new york. "well, that does explain the fact that you have fashion taste." it seemed to kelsey like she might get along with rosalie, but that was just her. you never knew what to expect from humans. "don't worry - absolutely no offense. all of the really good stores at in seattle but it's such a hassle to drive out there constantly." she said, shrugging her shoulders softly. it was an unfortunately true fact.

Rosalie wasn't too surprised to find out that Kelsey and Emmett were not actually brother and sister, but adopted. The two didn't look anything alike excluding their fair skin. Rosalie laughed lightly when Kelsey had asked if Emmett had gotten her in trouble.
" Uhm no actually, we just had lunch. "
She couldn't help but smile at the thought of Emmett Cullen. He was handsome and tall and probably taken, although it didn't matter. Rosalie couldn't get involved with anyone, she had more than enough to worry about with her brother. A guy would just complicate things and right now complication was the last thing she needed.
Rosalie nodded when the girl mentioned Seattle. Rose had googled some of her favorite store that she liked going to in Rochester and although Port Angeles had three Seattle almost had them all. They were too far away though, much farther than Port Angeles and she hadn't wanted to make the trip.
" So Emmett said you guys were new to the area..where did you come from? Im guessing somewhere larger than the sleepy town of Forks?"

lunch. kels could only imagine the looks and thoughts that had been on emmett if he had actually eaten some of the human food. the smell was absolutely repulsive and the taste was three times worse, as impossible as it seemed. "ahh, i see. so do you love him or hate him? it's too hard to be in the middle." pushing her luck perhaps, but it was true enough. he was one of those people that you just loved or hated, kind of like herself.
larger and less sleepy. well, in all honesty it was possible unfortunately. most places they couldn't go to because of the rainfall, or more specifically the lack of. it was unfortunate really. kelsey would have loved to return to new orleans despite her a little too colorful history there. it hadn't been great, but she knew she couldn't go. her brothers were still alive as far as she knew and the temptation to go and visit one of them would have been too great for her to resist. and well, something told her they weren't stuck at the same age that she was.
"larger, yes. but it was certainly much sleepier than forks, despite the fact it doesn't seem possible. we moved down here from denali, alaska. right on the edge of the national park, where everyone sane realized it was too cold to live there." of course, kelsey was a vampire. so the cold didn't bother her at all, judging by the fact that her skin was ice cold on its own. but that was just another fact of life. or at least, hers. besides, coming from there you could practically joke it was permafrost on your skin.

Rosalie felt her cheeks instantly get warm and flush. She hadn't meant to of course, but there were certain things that she had no control over. When Rosalie had met Emmett there had been an instant pull to him, a desire to be around him that Rosalie had never felt before in her life. She hadn't told a soul and when Kelsey just blatantly asked if she liked Emmett or not it brought back Rose's thoughts on Emmett, yes she liked him...a lot actually. Rose shrugged and tried to play it off
" Yea he seems ok."
She glanced around the store and shifted her weight a little. Rosalie was not the gushing-type of girl. She wasn't about to go all goo-goo eyed and beg Kelsey to give her Emmett's number. Rosalie could hold her own in the flirting field, she wasn't a player but she had been known to have her pick of guys. Forks was the last place she had ever imagined finding someone like Emmett, much less falling as hard as she did for someone like Emmett.
"Wow I definitely couldn't handle the cold. I love sun bathing too much. In fact..isn't there a beach around Forks? I thought I heard some of the other kids talk...."

it was hard not to giggle softly at rosalie's reaction. of course, the question had been truthfully just teasing and perhaps pushing her luck a bit but it didn't seem to cause any harm at the moment. "haha, trust me, he'll end up being like that annoying little... or uhh, big i suppose... brother you never wanted." that was the only way that kelsey could describe him. but hey, he technically was her brother so she got to deal with it. while he may have been older than her and larger than her (but that wasn't a surprise) he sometimes still acted like he was just a kid. but when you lived forever, you had to had some fun.
beach. well, it sure as heck wasn't hard to guess what she could have meant. "yeah, la push has a beach. i'd recommend it but i hate beaches with a passion. plus i burn like a baby." it was such a lie! kelsey had lived in new orleans, she had gone to the beach as a kid, she had been as tan as a normal kid was. maybe tanner. but of course at this point it was all the past and was meant to be forgotten. it should have been forgotten but she did choose to hold onto the memories. "but i know the other kids go to a lot. it's real popular for some reason." she said, simply shrugging her shoulders. even if she had wanted to go, she couldn't. damn treaty.
